Store Coupon Policies

It's always good to go ahead and print the coupon policies for the stores that you shop at. As sad as it is, many cashiers and even store managers are not familiar with the policies that are issued from their store corporate offices. When they don't know the policies, unfortunately some will take it upon themselves to come up with their own. If you have a copy of the coupon policy as issued from corporate, they can't argue with it, or if they do, you can call up corporate while you are standing right there!

CVS does not have a printable coupon policy, as they say that it could change at any time.

Kroger also does not have a blanket coupon policy. However, I received an e-mail last week with the following information that pertains to the Southeast Kroger Stores:

The store manager has the right to accept, decline or limit the quantity of
coupons or items used or purchased in a single transaction, by a single
customer, or in a single day.

Double coupons:
o Manufacturer coupons $.50 or less will be "Doubled" when a Plus Card is used.

Manufacturer coupons:
o Manufacturer coupons valued at $0.51 or greater will be redeemed at face
value.
Ø This does not apply to "free," Kroger, Catalina, Retail Food Store coupons,
Electronic Coupons on the Kroger Plus card, or items prohibited by law.

Pharmacy coupons:
o Competitor pharmacy coupons are accepted up to a limit of $500 in a year.
o If a customer can find a lower CASH price for a prescription at a different
pharmacy, we will match that CASH price.
o This price matching does not apply to any prescriptions purchased with
insurance alone or insurance with co-pay. The customer would have to pay the
entire CASH price on their own.
o LCM or Competitor Coupons may not be used in conjunction with our $4 Generic Program.

General coupon policy:
o Only two (2) internet coupons per manufacturer, per product, per visit, per day are accepted.
o Expired manufacturer coupons are not accepted.
o There is a limit of one (1) manufacturer coupon per item
o The amount refunded cannot exceed the price of the item.

PRINT-AT-HOME (PAH) COUPONS:

o We only accept printable coupons if they scan properly at checkout.
o We do not accept "free product" printable coupons that have no purchase
requirement.
o Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable but will be MUCH less common than traditional value-off coupons.
o We do not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product's value without advance notice.
o Legitimate PAH coupons will not be for a high value relative to the cost of the item. For example, a $2.00 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5.00 or more, but a $2.00 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate.
Coupons will be rejected if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates.
o Legitimate PAH coupons are never copied, sold, or traded. Nearly all coupons are "non-transferable," meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
o Coupons will be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way.
PAH coupons can be checked for validity at: http://www.printcoupons.com.
